ExitVerdict Terms of Service
Effective date: October 26, 2026
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Welcome to ExitVerdict. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Grin and Bear It Tees, LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("ExitVerdict," "we," "us"), and they govern your use of the ExitVerdict mobile app (com.exitverdict.app), the website at exitverdict.com, and related services (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, available at https://exitverdict.com/privacy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Please read Section 13 carefully. It explains that disputes are governed by Arizona law and heard in courts in Maricopa County, Arizona.
1. What ExitVerdict is
ExitVerdict lets people share stories about leaving a company. Stories are posted anonymously by default, and you may choose to show your name. To keep stories credible, we ask authors to verify that they worked at the company they're writing about. Posts may be reviewed and held before they're published.
2. Who can use ExitVerdict
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using ExitVerdict, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that you're not barred from using the Service under applicable law.
3. Your account
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to your email account secure; anyone who can read your email may be able to access your ExitVerdict account.
- Provide accurate information, and use only one account unless we say otherwise.
- You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away at hello@exitverdict.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
4. Employment verification
- When you upload documents to verify employment, you confirm that they're genuine, that they relate to you, and that you have the right to share them with us.
- Don't upload documents you're not allowed to share, and please redact information not needed to show employment (such as bank details, Social Security numbers, or salary). Some employer documents may be covered by confidentiality obligations; it's your responsibility to decide what you can share.
- Verification documents are kept private and are only reviewed by us and our reviewers. They're never published. See the Privacy Policy for how long we keep them.
- We decide whether verification is sufficient, and we may decline to verify or publish a post at our discretion. A "verified" label means we reviewed documents that appeared to show employment — it isn't a guarantee that every statement in a post is true.
5. Your content
You own your stories
You keep ownership of the stories and other content you submit ("Your Content"). By submitting it, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for example, format or excerpt), and distribute Your Content in connection with operating, improving, and promoting the Service. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies kept in backups for a limited time, copies kept as required by law or to resolve disputes, and content others have already shared.
You're responsible for what you post
When you post, you confirm that:
- The story is about your own experience, and it's truthful to the best of your knowledge. Opinions should be clearly presented as your opinions.
- You have the right to post it, and it doesn't violate any law, court order, or agreement you're legally bound by (for example, a valid non-disclosure or non-disparagement agreement). If you're unsure whether an agreement limits what you can say, consider getting legal advice before posting.
- It doesn't violate anyone else's rights, including privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights.
Anonymity has limits
We keep anonymous posts anonymous on the Service, but we know which account wrote each post. We may be required to disclose account information in response to valid legal process, as described in our Privacy Policy. Details in a story can also make you identifiable to people who know the situation.
6. Community rules
Don't post or do anything that:
- Is false and presented as fact, or is defamatory.
- Names, identifies, or targets individual coworkers, managers, or other private people by name, or shares their personal information (home addresses, phone numbers, personal social accounts, health information, etc.). Write about the company, its policies, and what happened — not about individual private people. We may remove or edit posts to take out names or identifying details of individuals.
- Shares trade secrets, confidential business information, or private information you obtained through your job and aren't allowed to disclose.
- Harasses, threatens, or encourages violence, or promotes hate based on protected characteristics.
- Impersonates someone or misrepresents your relationship with a company.
- Is spam, an ad, or posted on behalf of a company to boost or attack its reputation (including posts by a competitor or by an employer about itself).
- Uses fake or altered verification documents.
- Interferes with the Service — for example, scraping, overloading, reverse engineering, bypassing security, or accessing accounts that aren't yours.
- Breaks the law.
7. Moderation
We may review, hold, edit for formatting or to remove personal information (we'll try to tell you if we make substantive edits), decline to publish, or remove any content, and suspend or terminate accounts, at our discretion — including if we think content violates these Terms or creates legal risk. We aren't obligated to monitor all content and aren't responsible for content posted by users. Stories reflect the views of their authors, not of ExitVerdict.
8. Reporting content and companies' concerns
If you believe a post is false, defamatory, reveals private information, or otherwise breaks these Terms, email hello@exitverdict.com with a link to the post and an explanation. We'll review reports in good faith, but we generally won't reveal an anonymous author's identity except as required by law.
Copyright (DMCA). If you believe content on ExitVerdict infringes your copyright, send a notice to hello@exitverdict.com including: your contact information; identification of the copyrighted work; the location of the infringing material; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you're the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We may terminate repeat infringers.
9. Our property
The Service — including its software, design, logo, and the ExitVerdict name — belongs to us and is protected by law. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and Service for its intended purpose under these Terms. Feedback you send us may be used freely, without obligation to you.
10. App stores
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use is also subject to that store's terms. These Terms are between you and ExitVerdict only, not Apple or Google, and Apple and Google aren't responsible for the app or its support. For iOS users: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you, and Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the app. Apple isn't responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property infringement claims.
11. Ending things
You can stop using ExitVerdict and delete your account at any time from your account settings in the app. If you can't access the app, email hello@exitverdict.com from your account's email address and we'll delete it for you. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as content licenses for retained copies, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity, and dispute terms) survive termination.
12. Disclaimers and limits of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any content (including verified posts) is accurate. Content on ExitVerdict is personal opinion and experience, not professional, legal, or career advice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ExitVerdict and its owners and contractors won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US $100.
Some states don't allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Indemnity. If you post content or use the Service in a way that breaks these Terms or the law, and that leads to a claim against us (for example, a defamation claim over your post), you agree to defend and cover ExitVerdict for the resulting losses and reasonable costs, including attorneys' fees, to the extent permitted by law.
13. Disputes
Talk to us first. Most problems can be fixed quickly. Before filing any claim, email hello@exitverdict.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and applicable US federal law.
Where disputes are heard. Any dispute not resolved informally will be heard exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of and venue in those courts. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If changes are material, we'll notify you (for example, by email or in the app) before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
15. Other legal terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver. You can't transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
